 MACAULAY STUDENT NEWS EDITOR (REMOTE INTERNSHIP)

Macaulay Honors College seeks a motivated student to serve in an exciting, paid internship role designed to keep our student community informed and engaged. You will work closely with senior marketing staff to edit and create Macaulay Monday, our weekly student newsletter. Students pursuing any major who meet the qualifications below are encouraged to apply.

The remote internship is a paid, 15-week experience that integrates you into the day-to-day activities of our marketing team. (Please note the start/end dates below are flexible.)

ABOUT THE WORK

Macaulay Monday is the college’s weekly student newsletter, and the primary channel through which the college shares information with students across all eight campuses. The External Relations department creates and sends approximately 16 editions of the newsletter each semester with content on events, student and community achievements, scholarship and career opportunities, club news, photos, and more. The student news editor will:  

  • Work with Macaulay faculty, students, and staff to compile news
  • Write, edit, and fact-check the content provided, making sure it is fun, concise, and informative
  • Format it for distribution

 

COMMITMENT: This internship requires a commitment of 10 hours per week, for 15 weeks. This is a remote position with minimum in-person requirement.


COMPENSATION: This is a paid position with a one-time stipend of: $2,500

LEARNING: You’ll gain skills in content management systems for email marketing, learn to evaluate data to understand how your audience responded to your work, and master the basics of impactful email marketing.

 

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Passion for Macaulay Honors College and a desire to help students get the most out of their time here.
  • Interest in the professional aspects of communication or marketing.
  • Strong written communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to craft concise, catchy text.
  • Able to work at least 2 hours on Fridays
  • Ability to work in a professional, dynamic environment as demonstrated by previous part-time work, work study, side-hustles, freelancing, volunteering, summer work, internships, or other.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple partners to achieve a common goal.
