Orientation Intern
We're looking for a Macaulay student to assist with organizing leaders for Orientation and welcoming the incoming class of Macaulay students!
Overview
- A small stipend ($500) will be offered.
- Position will require approximately 5-10 hours per week starting on or around June 1st and availability at Day 1 of Orientation.
- Position requires some remote and in-person work
Job Description
- Recruit and interview a team of Orientation Leaders from various Macaulay campuses, including scoring student strengths.
- Manage Orientation Leaders: delegate tasks, coach their leadership development, maintain accountability, facilitate team collaboration, unity, and communication, host weekly team meetings, and assist them with planning and implementing the Community Building event.
- Collect data as needed on Orientation Leader cohort.
- Schedule training days and other Orientation Leader related meetings
- Input information about Community Building day into Club Macaulay, our student group management system, and other databases as needed.
- Assign student leaders to groups of students.
- Coordinate “Macaulay Crews” for orientation.
- Work closely with Student Development on the logistics for the event, including regular communication.
Qualifications
- Possess excellent organizational, administrative, and computer skills, including knowledge of the entire MS Office and Google Suite (especially Google Forms and Sheets)
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at once are required.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and effectively delegate to team members.
- A desire to foster team and community building amongst the Macaulay freshman class
